Vidhya
Vidhya has been privileged to train in Bharathanatyam under the guidance of Guru Kalaimamani Smt. Charulatha Jayaraman over the past eight years. Through her Guru’s nurturing of discipline and devotion, coupled with her own steadfast commitment, Vidhya has transformed into a classical dancer. For Vidhya, Bharatanatyam represents far more than performance; it remains one of her most meaningful connections to her Indian heritage.
Vidhya is an incoming junior at Northwood High School, where she excels both academically and across a remarkable range of extracurricular activities. Vidhya excels academically and is a recipient of the Presidential award for outstanding achievements in her middle school. Alongside her classical dance journey, she has studied piano for over a decade, achieving state honors at Certificate of Merit Level 8, and participates in Northwood’s dance program. She is also a regional debate competitor, a proud member of the California Scholarship Federation club, an avid reader, and a certified Taekwondo instructor currently pursuing her Second Degree Black Belt. Deeply rooted in her culture, she has spent ten years studying Hindu values and spiritual foundations at the Chinmaya Mission of Los Angeles.
Driven by a desire to help others, Vidhya serves as the Saahas youth vice president for Cause and volunteers at the Orange County Global Medical Center. She earned two consecutive Presidential Gold Volunteer Service Awards and the prestigious Congressional Gold Medal for her outstanding contributions to the community. These experiences deeply inspire her to pursue a career in the medical field to positively impact people's lives.
As she celebrates this milestone, Vidhya extends her heartfelt gratitude to her Guru for her unwavering guidance, and to her family, especially her brother Gautham, whose companionship has filled her life with laughter.
